Summer Photography Internships Nyc

Film and/or photography internship in New York City this summer?
Hey I am turning 14 in August and I love Film and Photography. I have been pretty so bored so far this summer and I want to make the best of it. I do a lot of film + photography and I might go to a School of the Arts for it and I was wondering if you know any programs I can take to practice my film and photography. It can even be like if they are filming a movie in NYC I can be a person to help out and get stuff they need. And it would be nice if I do not have to do make a resume because I’m only 14 and have not had much professional experience.
At 14, you’re not going to get any kind of great internship.
However, you may be able to job-shadow. Find a profession you feel you would like to someday be a part of, and find someone in that field that you can contact. Make sure it’s someone realistic — Steven Spielberg isn’t an option. Maybe a local photography would be good. Find a person that does what you enjoy and hope to someday do as a career, and contact them — by phone or by letter.
Be professional, be polite. Tell them you would like to someday be in the same career field they are in and you feel that what they do closely reflects what you hope to do, and that you feel it’s important for you to see and learn about how the job REALLY is — not just what people say about it, but what actually happens, and you would like to spend time job shadowing them. If you call them and they don’t answer, don’t leave a message and expect them to call you back. Follow through. Don’t be upset if they say no. Be on time, don’t get in their way, bring a notebook to take notes in. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get a time to ask them questions, but if you do get time for that, take advantage of it and know beforehand what you want to know. Promptly mail them a written thank you note — not an email, but a snail mail letter — thanking them for their time and courtesy in helping you reach your dreams. Be sure to tell them what that experience taught you, what you enjoyed most, etc.
