What should you ask a breeder?

Okay, I’m not in want of answers like “Don’t buy puppies online” I’m in want of what I should ask an online seller to ensure that they are legit and all that. I’ve gotten so far as requesting refferences, but i know that’s not enough. I’ve also decided that asking for pictures of the parents is a good idea, too, as well as what conditions the puppies are raised in. See, no breeders in the area of the dog that I want so I cantacted a woman online about a puppy I want before I knew buying dogs online is a bad idea and I really really want a puppy and I don’t want to settle for a beagle when what I really want is a papillon. Patience is not my forte. But, babbling rambling aside…
What should I ask for? Pictures in a specific position so I know it’s not stock photography? C’mon, help a girl out here.

Be sure contact the references..Ask for a pic of the pup with its mom, in the living room..Asking for a set-up photo doesn’t really insure the breeder is legit, because the African Scams take any pic you want, but just never deliver the puppy..They sell the same one over and over..But, contacting former buyers, from all over, may be of help..
The online breeders at http://www.pets4you.com/pap.html are guaranteed by the site owner to be legit.There are 11 Papillon breeders listed there…If a breeder has even one claim launched against them, they are tossed off that site..
A reputable breeder will ask more questions about YOU and your living conditions and experience, and will never ‘hard-sell’ a puppy..meaning, they won’t try to talk you into it..
