It is old Nikon lenses fit a new camera body Nikon digital SLR?

I want my father in law a digital SLR camera for 60 years. He already has a lot of old Nikon lenses from your old Nikon SLR film and has expressed interest in conservation and use of lenses. (I prefer to give a new SLR camera body digital SLR lens comes with a basic, but … it's your gift!). Can you recommend a model Nikon Nikon lenses work with old or is there another manufacturer that is interchangeable with the older Nikon lenses (as Minolta and Sony).

Any Nikon lens made since 1959 and set to work on a modern Nikon body, however, depending on the model of Nikon and the specific objective, it may not autofocus or meter correctly. Auto focus should not matter (only applies to entry-level models, D3000, D3100 and D5000, in any case), as I imagine comes from a movie background of his father-in-law ne used for manual focus lenses. Measurement is usually not a problem because there is a degree of reliable estimate (Sunny 16 Rule), even if has a manual and digital meter is easy to see an over / under exposure with an analysis of shot. No other manufacturer compatible.
