MacBook (iPhoto) won’t recognize the format of my pictures on my camera?

I am trying to import the pictures I have on my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W330 digital camera, but iPhoto says that they are an “unrecognizable format” and will not import them. I am using a USB cable and my camera is definitely “USB connected” to the computer. What do I do??

The image file types on your W330 are two qualities of JPEG, Fine and Standard

JPEG files are universally used by both Mac and PC computers.

Why don’t you use a card reader and leave your camera out of it
