Can anyone recommend a good photography book?

I am very interested in photography and am keen to learn more. I have decided to purchase a book which can help me learn more techniques etc. Does anyone know of any good Photography books that are out there. Clear and Informative. Thanks

The best book to read is the manual that came with your camera.
Photography Books are ok, but you only learn someone else’s style and technique, and everyone who will answer this will probably tell you a different book.
If you want your own style, why not join http://www.redbubble.com/ where you can join different groups, get lots of help, all for free, and then start to develop (pardon the pun) your own style.
You got nothing to lose.
