Photography Studios Nyc
Are video cameras allowed in the following places in NYC?

I’m going to New York CIty next week, and I wanted to know if the following places allow people to use video cameras (for sightseeing):

Radio City Music Hall (Stage Door Tour, not a live performance)
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
NY Waterways (harbor cruise)
30 Rockefeller Plaza (NBC Studios tour)
Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum
Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock)
American Museum of Natural History

I know that most of these places (if not all of them) allow still photography, but I want to know if they allow video.

Radio City Hall = Yes.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral = Not sure lol.
NY Waterways = I haven’t been there in a long time but as I remember yes.
30 Rockefeller Plaza = Sorry not sure lol.
Madame Tussand’s Wax Museum = Yes.
Rockefeller Center = I think So.
American Museum of Natural History = yes.

That accessibility, however, doe…

Photography and China (Paperback)

Photography and China (Paperback)

$57.92

With its lush and diverse landscapes, ancient ruins, and stunning architecture, China is a photographer`s dream. Exploring this visually rich and evocative country, Photography and China highlights Chinese photographers and subjects from the inception of photography to the present day.Drawing on works in museums, and archival and private collections across China, the United States, Europe, and Australia, Claire Roberts locates images from commercial, art, and documentary photography within the broader context of Chinese history. She focuses on the images as well as the studios and individuals who created them, describing the long tradition of Chinese artistic culture into which photography was first absorbed and subsequently expanded. As she recounts the stories of practitioners?from China and overseas?who were agents in that process of change, she also examines the commercial, political, and artistic purposes for which they used photography. Featuring one hundred striking, little-known images, Photography and China will make a significant contribution to photography, Chinese art, and twentieth-century history.

Photography in Africa (Hardcover)

Photography in Africa (Hardcover)

$126.48

This collection of studies in African photography examines, through a series of empirically rich historical and ethnographic cases, the variety of ways in which photographs are produced, circulated, and engaged across a range of social contexts. In so doing, it elucidates the distinctive characteristics of African photographic practices and cultures, vis- -vis those of other forms of `vernacular photography` worldwide. In addition, these studies develop a reflexive turn, examining the history of academic engagement with these African photographic cultures, and reflecting on the distinctive qualities of the ethnographic method as a means for studying such phenomena. The volume critically engages current debates in African photography and visual anthropology. First, it extends our understanding of the variety of ways in which both colonial and post-colonial states in Africa have used photography as a means for establishing, and projecting, their authority. Second, it moves discussion of African photography away from an exclusive focus on the role of the `the studio` and looks at the circulations through which the studios` products – the photographs themselves – later pass as artefacts of material culture. Last, it makes an important contribution to our understanding of the relationship between photography and ethnographic research methods, as these have been employed in Africa. Richard Vokes is Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and author of Ghosts of Kanungu
