Steps fro taking proffesional photos?

Im starting to get into photography. I usually make album covers so i want to take high quality pictures. I just bought the Olmypus Evolt e-410 about 3 months ago. Really nice camera. Also bought a 4 way reflector. I just wanted to know how i would make my pictures nice. Tried to find some tutorials on aperture,shutter speed and iso but still kinda confused about it.
