Photography People Black And White

I want to start photography as a hobby…?
I was wondering what an O.K. camera is for someone who wants to start photography, and i need answers from people that know what they’re talking about, not just guessing what a good camera would be, and it should also be affordable, cause I’m 17/jobless, and don’t have too much money…lol thanks in advance, About $300. I don’t think thats too cheap, right?
(I like pictures that are in sepia and black/white, i don’t know if that has a lot to do with anything, but i just thought i might put it in.)

The Art of Black and White Photography (Paperback) $54.09 Over the last few years, most books on photography have been focused on the new breed of cameras and how to master the digital imaging workflow. In The Art of Black and White Photography author and photographer Torsten Andreas Hoffmann takes a different approach, focusing on image composition and image capture, with an emphasis on the creative aspects of black and white photography rather than on the digital workflow. After introducing the ground rules of composition, Hoffmann illustrates their applications with his own stunning black and white images that cover various photographic genres, including architecture, street photography, portraiture, and surreal photography. Also discussed are the elements of a "photographic language"`, which distinguishes creative photography from random shooting. Finally, you will learn valuable post-processing techniques, mostly using Photoshop, that emphasize the functions necessary for creating outstanding black and white images. This second edition has been updated to include Photoshop CS5, as well as brand new images, content, and a revised layout. |

Crazy from the Heat: A Chronicle of Twenty Years in the Big Bend $46.75 James Evans has become the foremost interpreter of the state’s iconic Big Bend region, which has been his life’s passion and photographic subject since 1988. Approaching the rugged land and its people as an artist, documentarian, and historian, Evans has produced a body of work that rejects cliches in favor of honest, deeply observed photographs that show a profound understanding of light, the people of the desert, and the desert itself. Crazy from the Heat presents Evans’s most fully realized portrait of the Big Bend. Going well beyond his highly regarded black-and-white work in Big Bend Pictures, this book displays magnificent landscapes in full color, including panoramas that fold out to reveal the immensity of the desert. It contains dramatic time-lapse night photography and sensuous nudes that exhibit the striking similarities between the contours of the human form and of the land. Several portraits of Big Bend residents that reflect Evans’s long acquaintance with and affection for people who are at home in this remote place complete the collection. |
