Horse photograph – shall I enter or not?

There’s a photography class in a show near me and I’m thinking of entering. I’ve never done this before and I know my pictures aren’t great or anything! Anyway, I took this photo at Appleby Fair (a gypsy horse trading fair in the UK) and I really like it – http://blufiles.storage.live.com/y1pkCwvDllOZI40GPutaVybSUZlyW8vF0KOI0Hc5fPR-CB8jr9YOI-O2lM63e5PUNDM – because I think it captures the raw nature of the fair. The thing is, would I get marked down in a competition because of the nature of the photograph? I understand its on the borderline between adrenaline and cruelty. Opinions please. If they mark you down for the nature of the photograph, then they’re crappy judges. This is a quality photograph. You can’t shy away from the raw nature of the fair; don’t you know this is exactly what a good judge is looking for? They don’t want some picture-perfect little pony in its picture-perfect field. They want a picture that makes you feel something and understand something – and this is a great picture for that!
