Photography Love Layouts

should i major in photography with a journalism minor?
or the other way around?
i want to be a photojournalist/journalist, mainly writing for magazines, or writing feature stories for newspapers. but i LOVE art also — i really wanna go to art school, but at the same time, i wanna study journalism too. i wanna do both but i can’t decide what my major should be.
i was thinking that i could just do photography or illustration (i wanna be involved in making the layouts of the magazines/papers too) and then join the college newspaper, but idk how that would work out. if i do that, i’ll attend VCU, which is supposedly the best art school in VA.
i can see myself enjoying a career in journalism or photojournalism in the future, but i still wanna be able to do illustrations and things of that nature.
tough choice
I majored in journalism but write mainly about photography so I fugure I have the best of both worlds.
We did cover layout of pages as senior jounalists can become sub-editors who arrange stories and pictures in publications.
Being able to take the pictures is a definite plus either as a photographer or journalist.
