Photography Innovations In History

What are some good National History Day topics?
The theme is “Innovation in History: Impact and Change.”
I don’t wanna go for anything too modern because it won’t have much written about it. (Like the computer.)
I would love for it to be something that I’d be interested in, like photography or music, but I’ll go for any good ideas.
Note: An innovation isn’t necessarily an invention!
You could defiantly do the impact photography has had on the study of historical events… or something with the Pulitzer prize photos…
Although I would also suggest the evolution of warfare as a result of new technology.
For example: when we still fought with sticks and swords we stood in strait lines and charged each other.
When we invented guns we still stood in strait lines but shot at each other.
Then our guns became more accurate and we dug trenches and shot from them
Then we got bombs, airplanes, and poison gas and began modern warfare.
You could also include the difficulty the colonists had fighting the French and Indian war because Native Americans did not fight the same way Europeans did. They hid behind trees and attack at night.
