High School Senior Photography
High school is an important part of a student’s life. From their perspective it is a transition period from being a youth to being an adult. Many people prefer to take their senior pictures to capture the memories of this time in their lives. It is not uncommon to hear of parents spending of hundreds and even thousands of dollars to get senior portraits clicked of their children. Therefore it’s not surprising to find senior photography to be a business which can be a financially rewarding one for a professional photographer. In fact many photographers specialize only in senior photography.
This article will deal with starting out a business in senior photography. The tips given here are not helpful to someone starting but also to an established business who is looking to diversify into this sub-field of the photography business:-
- The first thing to decide is how you want to go about your work. This decision will primarily revolve around whether you want to do studio photography or location photography. Lots of photographers will offer both service especially keeping in mind that most seniors prefer taking pictures on location.
- Do your research with regard to locations. Whether a senior wishes to get themselves clicked within a studio or on location, make sure you have a list of place which you can offer as options to your clients.
- Figure out pricing. The first thing you can do is find out what the photographers in the area are charging for their services. Costs will differ if it is done in studio or on location. Location shooting tends to cost more so related expenses for this must be accounted for. Also determine the pricing on the kind of product that you intend to offer to your client. Many photographers who specialize in senior photography provide an ala carte selection of styles that can be chosen by the client. Pricing for digital images, albums and portraits need to be assessed accordingly.
- Build your portfolio. If you intend to specialize in senior photography then make sure you have plenty of samples to show your prospective clients. One of the more inexpensive ways of building a portfolio without recruiting a professional model is to recruit high school students or seniors and offer them a discounted rate on their portraits by getting them to model for your portfolio.
- Get your marketing plan into place. Use traditional means of advertising like newspapers and classified advertisements in magazines. You can put up ads in youth specific communication like yearbooks and high school newspapers. Speak to key personnel in the local schools and colleges. Offer them your services individually or in a bouquet to try and tap into this segment.
- Online marketing can be a powerful tool. The younger generation is very hooked into communication devices like mobile phones which now allow access to the internet. Social networking sites account for a huge numbers of younger adults so these sites would be a place to advertise your business.

Catholic High Schools (Hardcover) $51.35 Catholic high schools in the United States have been undergoing three major changes: the shift to primarily lay leadership and teachers; the transition to a more consumerist and pluralist culture; and the increasing diversity of students attending Catholic high schools. James Heft argues that to navigate these changes successfully, leaders of Catholic education need to inform lay teachers more thoroughly, conduct a more profound social analysis of the culture, and address the real needs of students. After presenting the history of Catholic schools in the United States and describing the major legal decisions that have influenced their evolution, Heft describes the distinctive and compelling mission of a Catholic high school. Two chapters are devoted to leadership, and other chapters to teachers, students, alternative models of high schools, financing, and the key role of parents, who today may be described as ``post-deferential`` to traditional authorities, including bishops and priests. Written by an award-winning teacher, scholar, and recognized educational leader in Catholic education, Catholic High Schools should be read by everyone interested in religiously- affiliated educational institutions, particularly Catholic education. |

Marketing in Schools $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Marketing in schools is a widespread phenomenon in which schools sign contracts allowing certain businesses to conduct marketing activities in school facilities primarily advertising. For example, a school might allow only one brand of soft drink to be sold in vending machines on the campus; in return, the soft drink company would provide compensation to the school (frequently money, but it may provide other compensation as well, such as building new facilities or paying for school supplies). The phrase usually refers to arrangements by elementary schools or high schools, rather than higher education; because this marketing is seen as targeting children, it is very controversial. One example of this is Channel One News, an educational TV show shown in schools that shows two minutes of advertising. Channel One is shown in over 11,500 middle and high schools across the United States, reaching 7.7 million students. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Weisman Art Museum, featuring masks, puppets, and other artifacts from throughout the theatre’s history.
