How important is an education in Photography?

If you want to be a photographer, it would be very helpful!

Education can take many forms:

You could read books on the subject, take a course by mail, read every magazine on the subject that you can lay your hands on, attend a college, get OTJ training, visit galleries, join a local photo club, or good old trial and error.

One of the best forms of education is to take photos, examine them to see why it’s not perfect, debug the problems, and apply that knowledge to the next scene that is like that.

Take 1000′s of photos, and by 3,000 or so, you might have a few prize winners.
