What are some good photography contests?

Where can I find a good/somewhat prestigious contest for photography for high school students? I really want to turn my hobby (photography) into something that would count as a extracurricular for my college app, and someone suggested that I enter a contest. The only one I’ve heard about is the national scholastic one, but the deadline is in a week and I don’t really have time to work on it now. Does anyone know any other good contests I can enter?

some contests have a certain age group. but if you are over 18 you can check out the photographers forum magazine’s annual photo contest. just check the website for details and entry dates. i enter the contest every year for extra credit.

i know Canon hosts a few contests as well. you can check the website for those as well. they have really good prizes, like free cameras and money.

the only bad thing about some of these contests is the entry fee. some are more expensive than others!
