Photography And Design Websites

Does majoring in Communication Design involve a lot of drawing?
okay so heres the deal, I want get a bachelors of fine arts in Communication design, but I absolutely hate drawing! I suck at it. But i’m good with the “digital” aspect. Like computers, photography, and video. I like making websites and such, but I hate drawing. Does this major invovle a lot of drawing? If its just a couple classes of drawing, maybe I could suffer through them, but if there are a lot, I don’ t think I would want to do it..
It really depends on the school. If Communication Design is within the art department, or at a specialty art school, then you probably will have to take a couple drawing classes.
I, myself, am a Visual Communications major working towards my BFA. At my school all art majors, whether they are going to get a BFA in Fine Arts or Visual Communications, have to go through what is called a foundation year before they can go on to the more advanced and specific classes. The foundations classes are introductory classes like Drawing and Design. After foundations year, however, Visual Communications majors never have to touch drawing again if they don’t want to.
Again, it varies a lot from school to school, so you may want to check the specific school’s website or email the head of the art department to find out for sure

Taschen’s 1000 Favorite Websites by Wiedemann; Wiedemann, Julius Edition , 0 $13.99 In the not-too-distant past, the internet was a military communication device virtually unknown to civilians. Then in the 1990s came an explosion, a sort of digital big bang, and suddenly everyone began communicating via the world wide web. The web’s evolution has proceeded at lightning speed, meaning that today’s websites are infinitely more sophisticated and well-designed than their predecessors. When a website gets updated, the previous version generally evaporates into the digital beyond, so it’s up to us to preserve and record this fascinating medium. 1000 Favorite Websites brings together — you guessed it — 1000 of today’s very best websites in the areas of advertising, architecture, art design, digital, erotic, illustration, movies, fashion, photography, and more; each website is presented via screenshots annotated with icons indicating the features of the site (e.g. animation, sound, downloadable material, etc.) Serving as a vital reference for web enthusiasts, this book is also a place marker in the history of the internet and a vibrant catalog of cutting-edge global web design. Bonus: Included in the book is a DVD (PAL and NTSC format, region 0) containing six mini-documentaries, each focusing on interviews with a creative web professional. The subjects covered include: how to use the net to maximize production, to find technical support, to help clients, to provide better service, to exchange ideas, to stay updated on the latest news, and to put creativity to work. |

Perceptual Differences of Urban Destination Websites $134.33 Its you In 2006 the Time Magazine declared the Internet user the Times Person of the Year. Considering that in March 2007 there were more than 1.1 billion people using the Internet, which is in fact a sixth of the world population, this election is not surprising. This should be reason enough to take the Internet user serious and to not underestimate his demands and expectations. However, even though there are numerous guidelines as to how to make a website successful, the provider and the user may have different perceptions of the website. Up to now substantial research has been carried out about the usability, the design and the image of websites. However, it has not been investigated whether a website is perceived equally by the provider (destination manager) and the user (potential tourist) or what the possible differences in these perceptions are. Consequently, the empirical part of this study aims to investigate whether there is a significant difference in these perceptions and if yes, where these differences can be found using the example of the capitals of the nine Austrian provinces.
