Digital Camera Recommendation?

Hello, I need a recommendation for a digital camera. I'm thinking of getting DSLR in a few years, but until then, I need a decent camera priced around $ 100 to 300 that has a good image at any time of day or night in a zoom in and out of function. I was looking at Olympus SP 800UZ zoom model, but not as it was in video mode. I'm looking at Samsung models now, but please recommend a good camera in the price range above. Thanks!
