Expectations for Canon 5D Mark 3 or equivalent?
Hello, I wonder where Canon and the professional camera market be headed. When could the 5D mark 3 or equivalent from? What I would consider something equivalent with the same image quality as the mark of 1 or better, at a similar price or less. In addition, decide on the course, when you could remove the component of mirror? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is really necessary for digital cameras? Like new Olympus "PEN" series. No doubt blinds will become unnecessary as well? And last but not least, what are the expectations for development cameras with wider dynamic range? As I see it, if the mark 2 is capable of 30fps (Ok. .. only high-definition resolution, but still) … then I can not see that it is impossible for the camera to take pictures of successive quickly and combine them into an HDR composite image automatically?
1) 5D 1D image quality. That's exactly what you get. The 5D and 5D Mk2 has a sensor on an impressive degree of consumer body – plastic housing, auto focus slow … everything about the line 5D any reduction in costs, except the image quality. Since the 5D Mk2 is still fairly new and the upgrade cycle bodies of high-end Canon is not as fast as with his rebel, do not think a replacement until 2011/2012. 2) Redesign without the mirror. Forget it. The Olympus EP1 is attracting much attention for the small form factor, but the lack of an appropriate viewer makes it glorified point and shoot. The display of attachment for the 17mm lens in this account, but it is a solution cludgy. Olympus has announced a model with an electronic viewfinder for this fall, but even more it can not replace a decent optical VF. All electronic viewfinders introduce a delay of 0.1 seconds (to project the image in the viewfinder), and that in itself means it will always be inferior. Add EVFs this to be slow in low light, and LCD screens can be unviewable in bright light. Until they fix this, you always want an optical viewfinder for serious work. Personally, I hope it sells like crazy the EP1 and called Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Voigtländer rangefinder on the market for digital, too. Maybe something with a frame sensor complete and a Leica M mount … We will gladly pay $ 2,000 for it. (The Leica M8.2 is a price for retired doctors – not photographers.) 3) Built-in cameras Nikon DSLR-HDR can sort of do this with single shots to "D-Lighting". The solution you describe is something I could see that happening soon. As it is, any camera will allow you to stand 3 to 6 FPS, and software will be more or less to automate the process of combining images in a single HDR. It would be nice to have, not a must-have. Also, with this sort of thing (as with black and white conversions), if you want stellar results still have to do things the hard way – with RAW image files and an appropriate workflow in Photoshop.
