what photography equipment will I need any good deals?

Im starting my amature photography studio home based. I am going to do model photography. I want one or two lights and the white paper to stand my models on. I don’t know what these things are called and what assecories I need with them. I imagine it can get expensive so how would I get used or discounted prices?

Just my opinion but if you don’t know the names of the equipment you need then you aren’t ready to do studio photography – at least not for money.

I suggest a web search using terms such as ‘setting up a photography studio’ or ‘studio photography equipment’ ‘portrait studio’.

Photography in Africa (Hardcover) $126.48 This collection of studies in African photography examines, through a series of empirically rich historical and ethnographic cases, the variety of ways in which photographs are produced, circulated, and engaged across a range of social contexts. In so doing, it elucidates the distinctive characteristics of African photographic practices and cultures, vis- -vis those of other forms of `vernacular photography` worldwide. In addition, these studies develop a reflexive turn, examining the history of academic engagement with these African photographic cultures, and reflecting on the distinctive qualities of the ethnographic method as a means for studying such phenomena. The volume critically engages current debates in African photography and visual anthropology. First, it extends our understanding of the variety of ways in which both colonial and post-colonial states in Africa have used photography as a means for establishing, and projecting, their authority.
