Where to find models for fashion photos?
I am very much new to fashion photography. I have some basic equipments to setup a home studio. Problem is now finding a model. I live in Canberra. If I approch in myspace, yahoo or facebook, people are very skeptic and they turn me down. I did tried in modeling website such as modelmayhem etc but no proper response. I am willing to shoot both male and female model for free ( like TFCD[Time for CDprints]). Can someone suggest me on how I can find them. I am willing to shoot anyone (any age or gender).
Run an ad, portable studio is best, but be sure to mention in the ad that you will trade modeling for prints.
Offer good prints for portfolios and the word will get around.
Once you hook up with a few possibles, i.e. screen the ones who call you, take saftey precautions if you intend to let strangers into your home. Better to do location shoots, you both meet at a set place, they bring someone they know and you bring an assistant.
Becareful of predators who want to case your house for a future robbery, camera equip goes fast at pawn shops.
