Digital Camera With Viewfinder On Front Of Camera
Why don’t a lot of the new point and shoots don’t have a viewfinder ?
So I’ve been wanting to buy myself a new point and shoot , because i allready have a canon XTi and my mother won’t let me use it at home , only on special occasions because i kinda get it all wet( i was trying to shoot a pic of a twirling Daisy with water drops flying off , though i ended up getting the lens and the front wet when i dipped the flower in water the front of it went it , though my camera is fine) ,and i kinda almost lost it so it’s a good idea . So i wanted to buy a new point and shoot becaue the one i’m using now , my nikon 4600 is really slow and he dosen’t last long even with new batteries , probably because i used the camera a lot :

Though I’m kinda now used to using the viewfinder because when i was allowed to use my canon everywhere i had to use it . And i’m open to any camera suggestions as long as it’s a nikon and has viewfinder ,

As already stated, the 2 main reasons are
smaller cameras
Larger LCDs
Both of these mean, “less space” for the Optical viewfinder.
I agree with you however, and will NOT buy a camera without an optical viewfinder.
I prefer them usually, especially out in the bright sunlight.
I’d stay with Nikon or Canon,
and Canon does still have a good assortment of small cameras with an Optical VF,
I have a little Canon SD800 IS, for a “pocket” camera.
4X zoom (starts WIDE angle, which I want)
Optical and LCD viewfinders
