Which is the best Canon digital camera for 500-600?
I currently am researching cameras and heard Canon is the best brand for this price range so I know what brand but which model is the best for quality photos and accuracy: about A-, A quality photos.

They all look like great models but which one is superior. I don’t care about cost of the models. I just care which takes better quality pictures and has higher ratings.
They’re all very good cameras. I have the XSi (450D), which you forgot to mention. It’s the best out of all of those (with the best high ISO results and features)…but, the XS (1000D) which is almost the same as the XSi (but is just missing a few features) would be ok.
The Xti (400D) would also make a great choice if you don’t want to pay the extra dollars for either of the other two.
As far as image quality goes, that largely depends on the user and which particular lens you are using, so lens choice is extremely important if you want great image quality. I wouldn’t recommend you buy an ultra cheap telephoto lens, for instance, because image quality results will not give you the best image quality (particularly with sharpness).
However you can buy a prime lens (one focal length) like the ultra cheap EF50mm f/1.8 for less than US$90. Yeah, it’s all plastic and built like a toy, but it’s a great lens for portraits and low light (but has sharp image quality).
The new kit lens with IS (image stabilization) would make a very good starter lens for anyone starting out, though…
