Don’t get either. Both brands are trouble. I would suggest getting a Nikon, their point and shoot cameras are far ahead of other point and shoot cameras, and they have Nikkor (world’s highest quality) lenses built in.
Canon doesn’t use as good of material in its lenses for point and shoot cameras. Nikon uses the same high-quality materials for all their lenses, and makes their own glass, and trust me, lenses are the more important aspect of the camera.
