I need to take a photo at least 400 pixels wide in 4×3 aspect ratio how do i do that with my digital camera?

I have a 3.2 mega pixels digital camera and i can change size on my camera to
2048×1536
1600×1200
1280×960
640×480 my question is what do i set it on to get 400 pixels wide in 4×3 aspect ratio with landscape format??

The closest setting to what you need is the 640×480 setting, however it is still too large (width 640 vs. your need of 400).

I would suggest taking the photo at the largest size possible (2048×1536) then re-sizing the image in some kind of image editing program. Photoshop is the most well-known image editor out there, but you can also download GIMP:

What you’ll need to do is go to Image>size and then set your width to 400 pixels, and you want to maintain the aspect ratio.

Then you need to see if the height is 300 pixels (it’s probably not – it’s probably 267. If this is the case, then undo your re-size, and this time do it again but by setting the height to 300 pixels. So your width will be 450.

Now, you’ll need to crop the image to have a width of 400 pixels. Once you’ve done that, save the image as “some_name.jpg” and you’re done.
