America’s Next Top Model: Episode 9.12, “the Girls Go to the Great Wall” Live Thoughts
China has pretty much been in the limelight this fall season as both Survivor and America ‘s Next Top Model sent their contenders to The Great Wall of China for competitive action. Tonight on America ‘s Next Top Model, Tyra directs the modellettes in a photo shoot, thus promising the viewers a lot of chaos. The contenders traveled from Shanghai to Beijing as the competition comes close to its conclusion. A few questions come to mind, too as we are only left with a few girls to vie for the ultimate title of America ‘s Next Top Model.
A little after Heather left a letter expressing gratitude for the friendships she’s made on the show, the girls headed to Beijing where Miss J and Twiggy gave them a lesson in Chinese fashion and received their traditional dresses, which they have to modernize with stuff they get from their shopping spree. For this challenge, Jenah won and chose Chantal, as she needed to pick a friend with whom she will receive couture dresses made for them.
Despite winning, Jenah still had time to emote on how she missed home, but surely a trip to the Great Wall of China would cheer her up. Once there, the girls were tasked to do warrior photos to commemorate the reason why the wall was built in the first place. Tyra took charge of photography, thus the girls were excited to work with her.
As for the photos, Chantal looked awkward in hers, while Saleisha did well. Tyra said they’d be doing a pose together, just to let the judges see who stands out and who doesn’t. Jenah’s picture became a judges’ favorite, but she still lost herself in the competition. Bianca turned out bit stiff in the competition, and her eyes didn’t show much. Saleisha did well, though and for the group photo, each judge liked a different girl best.
Heather turned out to be Cover Girl of the Week again, and this has been consistent since episode 3. In the end, Chantal was called before Saleisha because Tyra thought Chantal gave the best performance in the group photo. Saleisha was called after Bianca and Jenah landed in one of the bottom two spots. Finally, the judges decided to eliminate Bianca.
