What is the best digital camera with manual options?
I work with children, so I want to be able to capture the action, and all type of lighting conditions. I'm looking for something with an optional manual adjustment as well as video and sound. Also, my Canon PowerShot A520 has a terrible delay, I'd like something that is quick reaction.
You may want to consider the Canon S3 or wait until the new leaves S5 (S5 will have a shoe). What was and extended, the S2 for a year and is a fantastic digital camera. It is fast, responsive and offers a wealth of manual controls as necessary. It also has exceptional movie mode with stereo sound. You can zoom while recording video. The reason why I am recommending S2 S3 is that it seems to perform better at high ISO numbers, is important when shooting in low light. I'm assuming that the delay we're talking about when taking pictures with flash with the A520 (which had an A510 before giving it to my daughter). The S-series camera will do much better and if you use a memory card high speed, very fast flash recycle shooting in continuous mode. The S-series cameras are considerably larger than the A520, but with that comes a better performance and versatility.
