About Photography As A Career
How do you go about getting a career as?

a band photographer?
I’ve loved photography for coming up to two years now.
I love both fashion and Music photography, but i would like to be a band photographer.
I have taken photography as a GCSE and im over my target which is an B+ im currently working at an A*
How do i go about getting into the business?

I would apply at magzines like the optinum job at Rolling Stone Magazine, but there’s many others like Guitar Player Magazine etc.
I think you should widen your ambition and be a celebrity photographer. I’d opt to be one with a studio and not the paparazzi hiding in bushes etc.
.
There’s also bands and singers who have their own personal photographers and all formal and press release photos are done by them. Im not sure how you get into the niche, but I know it exists, for sure. I worked in the music business in LA for a time. Anything in entertainment involves a lot of schmoozing , and connections. You need a portfolio of your work, and then perhaps contact a band’s manager and ask to be their personal photographer. The manager is more accessible than the band, so they are the one to contact.

Photographs are an integral part of our daily lives, from sensationalist images in tabloid papers, to personal family snapshots, to the art photography displayed in galleries and sold through international art markets. In this thought-provoking exploration of the subject, Steve Edwards provides a clear, lively, and imaginative approach to the definition, importance, and meaning of photography. He combines a sense of its historical development with an analysis of its purpose and meaning within a wider cultural context. Edwards also discusses both well-known and more unusual photos, from the highly controversial Cottingley Fairies to Ansel Adams landscapes, and from the shocking and influential Eddie Adams image of a Vietcong suspect being executed to the portrait/performance art work of Cindy Sherman. Edwards interrogates the way we look and think about photographs, and considers such issues as truth and recording, objectivity and fine art, identity and memory.
